The Westview South Community Development District is a local, special-purpose government entity authorized by Florida Land and Water Adjudicatory Commission Rules 42SS-1 F.A.C established on October 24, 2022, for the purpose of financing or acquiring, maintaining and operating a portion of the infrastructure necessary for community development within the District.
The Westview South CDD encompasses an area of approximately 1,015.431 acres in Osceola County and Polk County, Florida. The District is generally located northwest of the intersection of Poinciana Parkway and Cypress Parkway. The District will finance, construct, acquire, operate, and maintain all or specific portions of the proposed public infrastructure.
A Community Development District (CDD) provides the 'solution' to Florida's need to provide valuable community infrastructure generated by growth, ultimately without overburdening other governments and their taxpaying residents. CDDs represent a major advancement in Florida's effort to manage its growth effectively and efficiently. This allows a community to establish higher construction standards, meanwhile providing a long-term solution to the operation and maintenance of the community's facilities.
